The early years of Alfa Romeo fascinate with a wealth of vehicles, designers and body builders. The desire arose to get an overview of all classic models built by Alfa Romeo. The register includes racing models as well as streetcars, which are still represented at various events today.
This project is the result of pure enthusiasm for the Alfa Romeo brand and has no connection to FCA Germany AG.
The history of Alfa Romeo begins in 1906, when Frenchman Alexandre Darraq set up the Società Anonima Italiana Darracq branch. However, as Darracq left the profitable parts of the production in his home country, problems quickly arose in Italy. In 1909, the Italian businessmen involved in the company decided to take over Società and renamed it Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili, A. L. F. A. for short. In 1918 Nicola Romeo bought the car manufacturer, two years later, in 1920, the label Alfa Romeo replaced the brand name A. L. F. A., which had been valid until then.
From Alfa Romeo to Zagato, talented designers checked out the Alfa Romeo vehicles. A detailed list gives an insight into the diversity of that time.
